THE 30-SECOND ANSWER

Spend on what matters to you.

Start with the Galaxy A07 4G for its processor and software support. Choose the Redmi 15C if a bigger screen and battery matter more. For calls, messages and a smaller bill, consider the HONOR Play10. The right warranty and final payable price decide whether each offer is worth buying.

Our all-round shortlist pick

Samsung Galaxy A07 4G

Rs. 49,0004GB RAM / 128GB · XMobile

Our starting point for a phone you plan to keep. The Helio G99 and Samsung’s published update commitment make a persuasive combination at this price. Prioritise it if you use a mix of everyday apps and want a clear software-support policy.

Why consider it

  • Six Android OS upgrades and six years of security support promised from launch, subject to Samsung’s conditions.
  • 128GB gives more room for apps and photos than the 64GB budget pick.

The trade-off

The 4GB RAM configuration leaves less multitasking headroom than higher-memory models. Its HD+ screen is also a compromise. At Rs. 49,000, there is only Rs. 1,000 left for any extras; Samsung lists the 25W adapter separately. The shop’s summary says 15W, while Samsung specifies 25W support: confirm the model and charger.

For a bigger screen & battery

Redmi 15C 4G

Rs. 46,9904GB RAM / 128GB · eMobile

The screen-first alternative for reading, videos and maps. Its larger rated battery capacity and 33W charging support are appealing if those features rank above a smaller body. Actual endurance depends on your apps, brightness and mobile coverage.

Why consider it

  • A roomy 6.9-inch display with refresh rates up to 120Hz in supported apps.
  • 6,000mAh typical battery capacity and 33W charging support.

The trade-off

This specific low-price offer has very limited checking cover and an explicit non-TRCSL label. Resolve those terms before buying; it is not equivalent to a company-warranty offer. The large HD+ screen prioritises size over fine detail, and 120Hz does not mean games run at 120fps.

For the smallest spend

HONOR Play10 4G

Rs. 32,4903GB RAM / 64GB · eMobile

A lower-cost option for a light user or a spare phone. It leaves Rs. 17,510 of the headline budget unspent. Consider it when calls, messaging and occasional browsing matter more than keeping lots of apps and media on the device.

Why consider it

  • The lowest listed price in this shortlist, with a named warranty provider in the seller’s offer.
  • Android 15 Go edition, a headphone socket and expandable storage; verify the local configuration.

The trade-off

3GB RAM and 64GB storage are the main limits. Expect to manage app and media storage, and check your essential apps on the exact unit. The 13MP camera and 10W charging are basic; we would spend more for heavier app use or frequent photography.

What Rs. 50,000 should buy you

For a main phone, our target is at least 4GB of physical RAM and 128GB of storage, provided the warranty and total cost still fit. The cheaper HONOR is an intentional exception for lighter use. All three shortlisted models are 4G phones. Treat a 5G badge, a large megapixel number or advertised virtual RAM as one detail in the decision, rather than a reason to compromise on storage, support or purchase terms.

  • Students: leave room for downloaded lessons, PDFs, class groups and video-call apps. Prefer 128GB if you keep files offline.
  • Work and commuting: try your maps, keyboard and essential apps, and check screen readability outside the shop.
  • Gaming and cameras: ask for a demonstration of the actual game or indoor photo you care about. We have not benchmarked these phones or ranked camera quality from megapixels.

Make the whole purchase fit the budget

A Rs. 49,000 phone is not a sub-Rs. 50,000 purchase if you also need a charger and paid delivery that take the total over the limit. Ask for an itemised quote. Count only accessories you actually need; check what is included in that exact box. A charger’s advertised wattage alone does not guarantee the phone’s maximum charging speed.

  • Final total = phone + required charger + protection + delivery + payment or finance fees.
  • Example only: a Rs. 46,990 phone plus a hypothetical Rs. 2,500 of extras totals Rs. 49,490, leaving Rs. 510. The accessory allowance is not a shop quote.
  • Compare the cash total with the full card or instalment total. A monthly payment is not the phone’s total price.

The Sri Lankan buying checklist

Compare offers for the same RAM, storage, model code, condition and warranty. A one-week checking warranty and a one-year company warranty offer different protection. Do not assume a familiar brand name means an imported unit is eligible for local company service.

  • Get the warranty provider, covered faults, duration, service location and return policy in writing.
  • Ask about TRCSL approval/registration and confirm the exact unit’s network usability with the seller and your operator, especially when a listing explicitly says non-approved.
  • Before accepting the phone, check the model and IMEI against the box and receipt, then test your SIM, a call, Wi-Fi, cameras, speakers, fingerprint reader and charging.
  • Confirm the condition and included accessories. For an opened or used unit, check that previous accounts are removed and you can complete setup.
  • Keep the dated quote, invoice and written warranty terms. Reconfirm stock and the final payable amount before travelling or paying.

How we chose these phones

This is an editorial shortlist based on published specifications, identifiable local configurations and retailer listings checked on 28 October 2026. We favoured a clear use case for each pick: software support, screen and battery capacity, or lower cost. It is not an exhaustive market survey, a claim to have found the cheapest shops, or a hands-on review. Prices are dated listed offers, not live quotes; stock, selected warranty, payment method and delivery can change the deal. Manufacturer sources describe regional products, so verify the exact Sri Lankan unit. Battery and charging figures are manufacturer ratings, not our measurements. Seller warranty claims have not been independently certified.

A FEW MORE ANSWERS

Before you decide.

Which phone would you shortlist first?

The Galaxy A07 4G, if the 4GB/128GB offer, written warranty and complete purchase cost suit you. It is our specification-based starting point for mixed everyday use. If the extras push it above Rs. 50,000, get another quote or choose a less expensive offer rather than exceeding a hard budget.

Is 4GB RAM enough in 2026?

It is our minimum target here for a main phone with ordinary app use, not a guarantee of smooth performance. Heavy multitasking and demanding games benefit from more headroom. Check physical RAM separately from memory expansion, which uses storage and does not turn a 4GB phone into an 8GB physical-RAM phone.

Should I buy an older used flagship instead?

Only after comparing battery condition, remaining software support, repair history and the written warranty. Test it carefully and include any likely repair cost. A newer budget phone may be a simpler purchase for someone who values predictable condition over premium features.

Which one has the best camera?

We have not tested these cameras side by side, so we cannot name a camera winner. Try an indoor portrait, a moving subject and a video call on the exact models. Camera processing, focus and lighting matter as well as the megapixel count.

Are these prices guaranteed?

No. These are retailer listings checked on 28 October 2026. Ask for a current written quote for your chosen configuration, condition and warranty, including all fees. The Redmi offer has only checking cover; the Samsung listing requires confirmation of the selected warranty and stock.
